GRADE 1

 
Object Manipulation: (N1, N3, N4)
·         Juggle with two juggling scarves
·         Demonstrate playground ball skills: dribble, toss-catch, bounce-catch, toss-clap catch, toss-  bounce catch
·         Demonstrate ability to perform an underhand and overhand throw
·         Kick a stationary ball using a running approach
·         Dribble a ball with feet (soccer)
·         Introduce  volleyball forearm pass (bump)
·         Strike a ball off a tee
·         Move an object around the gym with an extension ( pillo pollo stick)
·         Bowl a ball aiming at an object (school, pin guard, etc)
·         Bounce an object into the air with a racquet
·         Catch a tossed ball
 
Coordination: (N2, N3, N4)
·         Demonstrate locomotor skills (walk, jog, skip, slide, jump, hop, and gallop)
·         Walk heel-toe on a low balance beam
·         Demonstrate balance skills using various balance points
·         Start and stop in response to a signal
·         Jump a self-turned rope (10 times)
·         Jump a rope held by others (5 times)
·         Create movement to music, follow the leader, and perform simple rhythmical patterns to music (folk, square and social) individually and with a group.
·         Introduce correct form for callisthenic exercises (jumping jacks, push-ups, curl-ups)
·         Roll on tumbling wedge (log, pencil, egg, forward)
·         Balance on a variety of objects (stilts, balance boards, etc)

·         Follow basic rules of low organized games
·         Work together as part of a group

·         Dribble a ball using the right, left, and alternating hands
·         Dribble, shoot, and trap a soccer ball
·         Dribble and shoot a ball while using an extension (pillo pollo stick)
·         Strike a ball off a tee using a batting stance
·         Aim and shoot at a basketball hoop
·         Throw and catch with a partner (15 feet away)
·         Punt a ball
·         Strike a ball against the wall with hands (4 Square skills)
 
Coordination: (N2, N3, N4)
·         Display mature form in locomotor skills  (walk, jog, run, skip, hop, jump, slide, and gallop)
·         Jump a self-turned rope forward and backwards (10 times)
·         Continuously jump a rope turned by others (10 times)
·         Perform roll variations down a tumbling wedge
·         Travel and change directions and levels on a balance beam
·         Create movement to music, follow the leader, and perform simple rhythmical patterns to music (folk, square and social) individually and with a group.

·         Work cooperatively with classmates during cooperative and competitive activities

·         Throw and catch various objects from different distances
·         Bounce and strike an object to a wall using a paddle or racquet
·         Direct a stationary ball to a partner or target using a kick

·         Demonstrate Red Club jump rope skills
·         Run in and jump a long rope twirled by others (10 times)
·         Demonstrate proper landing from a jump
·         Balance in an inverted position (e.g., tripod, tip-up, handstand, headstand)
·         Transfer weight from feet to hands in a variety of tumbling moves (cartwheels, handstands, etc)
·         Demonstrate basic square, folk and social dance skills
·         Demonstrate body positions (straight, tuck, pike, straddle, lay-out)
·         Introduce and practice track and field skills (hurdling, relays, etc)

·         Strike a pitched ball using a bat
·         Hit a target with an overhand throw

·         Demonstrate proper body positions during warm-ups/calisthenics and tumbling
·         Demonstrate characteristic dance styles from more than one form or tradition
·         Create and perform a dance (individually or group)
·         Demonstrate White Club jump rope skills
·         Practice double dutch and egg-beater jump rope turning
 
Team Work/Team Building: (N3, N5)
·         Accept teacher assigned partner and groups
·         Positively encourage teammates
·         Demonstrate proper etiquette while working with a partner

·         Demonstrate locomotor skills (leap, grapevine)
·         Perform Blue Club jump rope skills
·         Practice entering a double dutch jump rope
·         Demonstrate proper body positions during warm-ups/calisthenics and tumbling
·         Demonstrate characteristic dance styles from more than one form or tradition
·         Perform a cartwheel in a hand-hand-foot-foot pattern
 
Team Work/Team Building: (N3, N5)
·         During team building follow activity specific rules, procedures, and etiquette
·         Work cooperatively and productively with a partner or small group
·         Identify three positive characteristics of each teammate
